Our Commitment to Tea
We carefully select only the good teas grown on the Makinohara Plateau and make them rich in flavor. When we receive crude tea from a reliable farmer we contracted with, we inspect it many times during the tea-making process to check the color, taste, aroma, and balance of the tea to determine its characteristics, and then determine the best method for manufacturing. We are constantly researching plucking, steaming, and burning to improve the quality of our teas. Our deep steamed tea has a stronger aroma, taste, and sweetness than general one.

History of Yamaman Tea Industry
1917 Yasaburo Katase founded Katase Shoten in Haibara-cho.
1935 Started export tea production and sales. Contracted with foreign trading companies for sales.
1943 Mineo Katase, the present director, was born as the eldest son of Katase family.
1949 Started manufacturing and selling black tea.
1954 Changed the organization to Yamaman Black Tea Corp.
1964 Constructed a tea refrigerator.
1969 Changed the organization to Yamaman Tea LLC.
1972 Reconstructed the retail store.
1979 Constructed a new factory.
